As an artist I have challenged myself with new ideas through stone. I have been drawn to stone because this material seems to strike a resonance with me, the process of stone carving always becomes an exciting and dynamic experience. I am compelled by a desire to make a connection with the viewer and stir their soul, as much as it has stirred mine when creating a piece of art. As I work a particular stone it reveals it's own individual character and unexpected nature, and it reminds me that, just as we are all human beings, we are uniquely different from each another. As the viewer, when my carving stirs something in you, that connection between you and me, will remain a very personal one.
